Design Brief: ALTO

Ideation

Low-Fi Prototypes
Low fidelity prototypes were used to establish overall dimensions, forms, and general functionality aspects.

Prototypes were later used for further user testing

User Testing
A series of user testing took place as a means of finding solutions to current issues with small living spaces, appliances and the cooking practices.

Another set of tests were conducted to better understand form, functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetics.

HANDLES
Shape, fit, and functionality were tested through low-fidelity prototypes and a series of user groups with varying concerns and feedback as a way find the best lid and pot handles
CHARGING
Charging function, use and systems were tested with different plug-ins
Physical Models
Higher fidelity models were constructed from foam, wood, and 3D printed polymers.

These models helped to showcase the physical form and dimensions in its final form.

Design Refinement

Final Design
A series of user testing took place as a means of finding solutions to current issues with small living spaces, appliances and the cooking practices.

Another set of tests were conducted to better understand form, functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetics.
